On Tuesday 9th June, year 6 visited the TA Centre in Romford to take part in Barking & Dagenham’s Junior Citizen Scheme.
The primary purpose of the scheme is to equip Year 6 pupils with vital life skills and safety advice as they prepare to transition from primary school to secondary school.
During the afternoon, the children worked in groups and completed a carousel of different interactive, real-life safety scenarios.

The workshops were provided by community partners and included:
Metropolitan Police – Knives and the law.
Thames Water – What you can and cannot put in to the sewage system.
Transport for London – Zip cards and how to be safe on public transport.
Vandome Cycles – Safer cycling.
Subwize – The dangers of vaping.
London Fire Brigade – What to do in a fire.
