🎃 Halloween Fun and Learning in the ARP! 🎃

Our ARP children celebrated Halloween through hands-on activities, including pumpkin exploration, painting, collage and creative crafts. There were plenty of opportunities to explore, communicate and learn together!

Scooping out pumpkins and exploring the seeds and pulp encouraged sensory exploration, curiosity and opportunities to communicate preferences. Using spoons, paintbrushes and craft materials supported fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination, helping build the foundations for writing and everyday independence.

Creating pumpkin faces provided opportunities to explore shapes, colours, facial features and emotions, linking with our topic, “Ourselves”. Shared activities also encouraged children to follow instructions, make choices, take turns and communicate with adults and friends through words, gestures or their communication supports.

Activities were adapted to individual needs, allowing children to participate at their own pace and work towards their learning targets.

Half-term learning at home
Please enjoy the photos and videos accompanying this post. We have also included homework for children to complete over half term, helping them practise and build on their learning. Keep activities short and enjoyable, offer support where needed and celebrate your child’s efforts!

We wish all our families a lovely half-term break! 🎃
