This week in 5K, we have been investigating light and shadows. We investigated how shadows change in shape or size and found that this is impacted if an object is opaque, transparent or translucent. As part of our experiment, we used torches and an object to explore how you can create different shadows and found out that the closer to the light source an object is, the bigger the shadow will be. This is because the object blocks more of the light. The further away from the light source an object is, the smaller the shadow will be. This is because the object blocks less of the light.
