An amazing Spring half term

The children have had a great time learning and growing together. We celebrated the Numbers Day, where they had the opportunity to explore the importance and significance of numbers in our everyday lives. This interactive learning experience truly engaged their curious minds and strengthened their understanding of mathematical concepts.

In addition to Numbers Day, we also celebrated Pancake Day. The children had a fantastic time participating in various fun-filled activities related to this tradition, including making and flipping pancakes. This not only provided them with a hands-on culinary experience but also fostered teamwork and creativity.

Furthermore, Valentine’s Day was also a special occasion that was celebrated with love and enthusiasm. The children exchanged heartfelt greetings and shared their appreciation for one another. It was truly heartwarming to witness their kind gestures and understanding of the importance of spreading love and kindness.

In light of the Chinese New Year festivities, we organised a range of sensory activities to enhance our students’ understanding and appreciation of this important cultural event. Our aim was to create a sensorial experience that would not only captivate their attention but also facilitate their learning and development. The students eagerly participated in various sensory activities related to the Chinese New Year. We set up a sensory table with different tactile materials representing traditional Chinese symbols, such as rice, red envelopes, and Chinese characters. This allowed the students to explore these elements through touch, enhancing their sensory perception and fine motor skills.

Furthermore, we incorporated olfactory stimulation by introducing scented playdough with fragrances like ginger, jasmine, and oranges, which are commonly associated with the Chinese New Year. This sensory experience provided our students with the opportunity to engage their sense of smell, while also promoting creativity and imaginative play.

To promote auditory sensory engagement, we played traditional Chinese music in the background during these activities. This not only fostered a culturally immersive environment but also stimulated the students’ auditory senses and helped them develop a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and traditions.

The sensory activities provided a multisensory experience for our students, enabling them to explore the Chinese New Year celebrations from a tactile, olfactory, and auditory perspective. It was truly heartening to witness their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the various activities we organised.

As we approach the half-term break, we encourage you to take this time to relax, bond with your children, and create lasting memories together. We believe that a well-deserved break will rejuvenate and energise both you and the children for the upcoming challenges and achievements in the next half of the term.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your continued support and collaboration. We truly value your partnership in shaping and nurturing the minds of our young students.

Wishing you all an amazing and enjoyable half term.
