This week in Nursery, we have been learning all about Autumn! This links closely to our text, ‘The Leaf Thief,’ by Alice Hemming. We talked about different things that we might see during Autumn, including leaves, acorns, pinecones and conkers, using our senses to investigate different textures, shapes and colours. We used this new vocabulary to create an ‘Autumn soup.’
The children have also been exploring the changes that happen during this season, noticing how the leaves change colour and fall from the trees, and talking about the cooler weather. We created our own Autumn tree pictures using paint and a stamping technique to recreate the colourful leaves.
