In English, the children explored the life of Nelson Mandela by creating timelines of the key events in his life. They developed their research and sequencing skills, learning about his childhood, his fight against apartheid, his 27 years in prison and his historic role as South Africa’s first Black president. Through this activity, the children reflected on Mandela’s courage, determination and lasting impact on the world.
