Meg and Mog

It has been very ‘spooooooky’ in Nursery recently, as we have been reading the classic story, ‘Meg and Mog,’ by Helen Nicholl. Some spiders, a witch’s hat and a broomstick appeared on our carpet on Monday and we were wondering where they had come from! After finding the story and reading it together, our children loved getting into character and using the props to retell the story using simple language…

We enjoyed counting lots of spiders and recognising numbers to 5 and beyond!

We learnt that a ‘cauldron’ is used to make magic potions and had lots of fun cutting and drawing our own potion ‘ingredients,’ before bringing the potions to life in our sensory tray.

We even got to explore some pumpkins in our outdoor investigation tray, crafting our fine motor skills, ready for writing.
