Year 2 had an unforgettable, exciting and quacking experience watching five ducklings hatch with the help of Incredible Eggs! Over the course of the experience, the children were fascinated to learn that ducklings use a special “egg tooth” to break out of their shells and can peck more than 100 times before finally hatching, showing incredible determination—just like our very own “Lil Champ,” who took a little longer but amazed everyone with his perseverance.
When the ducklings finally made their grand entrance, the classroom quickly turned into a waddling wonderland, with lots of giggles as the fluffy explorers zoomed (or rather, wobbled very importantly) around the room.
Every child had the opportunity to hold a duckling, which was both adorable and slightly chaotic, as it turns out ducklings are not known for sitting still for long! The class also found it hilarious to discover that the teachers had to show the ducklings how to eat and drink—proving that even baby ducks need a bit of help getting started in life.
Year 2 have been incredibly lucky, as Miss Mackie will be adopting the ducklings, meaning the adventure isn’t over yet. We are all eagerly awaiting regular updates through “duck mail”… and secretly hoping Lil Champ remains the boss of the bunch!
