Year 5 -Black History Month
For Black History Month, our Year 5 classes learned about the inspiring mathematician Katherine Johnson, whose calculations helped NASA send astronauts into space. The children researched her life and achievements, discovering how her work broke barriers for women and Black scientists. They then created beautiful painted portraits of Katherine Johnson, using vibrant colours to reflect her brilliance and determination. The finished artwork was proudly displayed to celebrate her incredible legacy.
