Exploring Our Bodies Through Fun and Learning

This week our children have been busy learning all about our bodies. Through fun games, puzzles and hands-on activities, they practised naming different body parts, recognising where they are, and understanding how their bodies work.

For many of our pupils, especially those with autism, body awareness is really important. It helps them build independence, look after themselves, and feel more confident in expressing their needs.

Alongside the practical activities, we also used this topic to practise reading and spelling. Children matched words to pictures, labelled body parts, and worked on simple writing tasks – making learning both active and meaningful.

From Mr. Potato Head to large floor mats and word games, the children had a wonderful time exploring and learning together. The smiles and focus during these sessions showed just how much they enjoyed connecting play with learning.
