TAPS is 100 – Routemaster

Year 5 have been learning about and building the iconic Routemaster bus, which is deeply linked to 1950s and 1960s Britain, both culturally and historically. The Routemaster was a symbol of British post-war recovery and engineering. It became a London icon during the sixties. The open rear platform and hop-on-hop-off convenience suited the bustling 60s city lifestyle. Its bright red colour and distinctive front made it recognizable worldwide, especially as London became a global cultural hub.
