Supporting Successful Transitions for Learners with Autism 🌈

Transitions between activities, locations, or routines can often be challenging for children with autism, as they thrive on predictability and structure. That’s why creating a supportive and visual framework is key to easing these moments of change.

In this image, a staff member supports a learner using visual cues to transition into the Rainbow Room. Visual aids like this provide a clear and concrete way for children to understand what is happening next, reducing anxiety and fostering independence.

By embedding transition strategies into daily routines, we help our learners build confidence, manage expectations, and navigate their environments with greater ease. These small yet impactful steps create a more inclusive and accessible learning experience for all.

Many thanks
