I hope you are well and have a great summer.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you all when schools starts for the Autumn term and cannot wait to spend time again with the children ready for a new school year!
The school Risk Assessment can be read here which states the approach the school has taken to the opening of the school in the Autumn term. The Risk Assessment is in line with government guidance and has been adapted from the Local Authority Risk Assessment to accommodate the needs of our school. If you have any questions please do feel free to ask.
I write with fantastic news that we have revised our staggered start/finish times for the start of the Autumn term.
In my previous letter to you, I informed you that we would be working alongside government guidance and will make changes as and when necessary to support our families.
Timings for children for the start of term:
Y1: Start- 8:40 Finish- 2:55 (Main gate)
Y2: Start- 8:50 Finish- 3:05 (Main gate)
Y3: Start- 9:00 Finish- 3:15 (Main gate)
Y4: Start- 9:00 Finish- 3:15 (Back gate- car park entrance)
Y5: Start- 8:50 Finish- 3:05 (Back gate- car park entrance)
Y6: Start- 8:40 Finish- 2:55 (Back gate- car park entrance)
These timings will be in place until further notice.
Please can we ask that parents arrive on time at the beginning and end of the school day.
We cannot accommodate parents that arrive early and we must follow government guidelines- we cannot have large crowds gathering at the school.
All children must be collected by 1 parent or carer.
This will ensure we avoid overcrowding and that the one way system can be used effectively.
We ask, where possible, that Year 5/6 children walk to/from school on their own. This will avoid congestion and any gathering at the back gate and will allow social distancing to be implemented effectively
The school will open to:
Y1 and Y4- Monday 7th September
Y2 and Y5 – Tuesday 8th September
Y3 and Y6- Wednesday 9th September
To ensure we can adhere to social distancing guidelines we are operating a one way system at the school gates.
Please queue at the side of the school following the 2m marks that have been outlined on the pavement. Members of staff will be on hand to direct you at the start and end of each day.
Please do not take offence if staff members direct you to use the one way system or remind you to observe social distancing:
We must ensure all pupils, parents and staff are safe and will therefore implement the guidelines needed.
I will be sending out further guidance prior to Monday 7th September. If you have any questions, as always, please feel free to contact the school office.
We look forward to seeing you all at the start of the Autumn term.
