SATs are coming – Don’t panic!

With the countdown to SAT’s week firmly underway, 6 of our Year 6 children give their top tips to SATs success.

Charlie (6O) Read anything – books, passages, newspapers and get a member of your family to ask you quick fire questions about what you have read.

Harry (6T) Revise, revise, revise! Look through your daily homework books, and if you can – go online, the BBC Bitesize and Mathletic’s websites are a good place to start.

Osa (6K) Practice your times tables recall and all of your basic arithmetic – adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing as well as percentages and fractions.

Supriya (6K) Go over all your math strategies, such as – when dividing fractions don’t be shy – flip the second and multiply – if you can – simplify.

Lacey (6T) Make sure you practice spelling especially the 101 Year 5 and 6 words. – There are twenty marks on the spelling paper so give it your best shot!

Courtney (6O) Brush up on your test skills – Read the question then read it again. Don’t spend too long on any one question – if you are not sure move along.
