New Library for the New Year

On Monday 9th September, our first day back to school for the academic year, the children were surprised by a newly refurbished, decorated and restocked library. The inauguration of the library was organised and we were very fortunate to have the author Anne Stairmand to cut our celebratory ribbon. Anne engaged with the children by reading extracts of her book to them and inspiring them to live in the world of books. She emphasised how important it is to read and encouraged the children to write down their fantastic ideas.

Anne was very impressed with how inviting and attractive the library is.  She was enthralled by the children’s hunger for learning and knowledge. We also had some guests from the Local Authority who joined us for this very special occasion.

We hope our wonderful children across the school spend as much time as possible in the library, making the best possible use of the resources we have made available to them.

Anne has signed some of her books for the children of Thomas Arnold and donated a set to the library. We also have signed copies of the books available to be purchased if you so wish. If you would like to purchase a book please contact the office.

What a great start to the year!
