Today’s activity – Choose a book/comic/newspaper to read for 20minutes. We have been working on expression.
Choose a character from your book. Ask an adult to choose one, too. Pretend to be the characters. Ask each other questions about what happens to them.
Tell your adult all about a character in your book.
Tell your adult all about a setting in your book.
Retell a story that you like to your adult.
Talk to your adult about something that happened to you that you have also read about in a book.
Today you are going to write the next part of your letter.
What would you like to say to Captain Tom? I would like you to include some interesting adjectives in this part.
First I wanted to tell you that you are a very courageous and thoughtful man and you have shown such perseverance in your quest to help the NHS. I cannot believe you have walked 100 laps of your enormous garden and raised a huge amount of money for the NHS.
Well done Captain Tom, we are all extremely proud of you. I also wanted to say Happy 100th Birthday!

Today we are going to look more at 3D properties.
Properties of shapes are the qualities or characters each shape has.
For example: A yellow pyramid is yellow, has 5 vertices (corners), 5 faces and 8 edges.
Take a look at this video to find out more, play the game and take the quiz once you have finished.
Activity: Once you have finished doing this, you are going to create a poster for your learning. First you will draw your 3D shapes as best you can, if you would like to copy the image, there is a picture below. Beside each shape I would like you to record the name, vertices(corners) and faces.
For example: beside your drawing of a sphere:
I would like you to do this for a sphere, cube, cuboid, and square-based pyramid.
Challenge: I would like you to include a cylinder and a cone in your poster along with their properties.
