Last week we began thinking up and planning an adventure story, now it is time to start writing it.
Today we are going to write the beginning of our stories. I would like you to include similes in your writing, this in when we describe something by using a comparison.
For example: as strong as an ox
tall like a lamppost
In the beginning of a story we would normally describe the weather, what time of day it is and introduce one of our characters. If you like you could also draw a picture.
Here is my beginning:
One stormy night, when the wind was howling through the streets, a fantastical creature came flying through a rain cloud. He was tall like a lamp post and as strong as an ox. He wore a funny pink hat on his head and always carried a golden trumpet in his hand. Suddenly he turned around as fast as a flash and looked down the street. He could hear someone, but it was too dark to see them. So he hid behind a very tall building that was grey like an elephant.
