Today’s Activity: On oxford owl search for the book ‘East of the sun, west of the moon’. Once you have read the book and complete the two activities about the book.
In writing this week we are going to look at different ways that we can start a sentence!
By the end of the week we will have:
- Identified different ways to start a sentence.
- Practised them all.
- Put them into an extended piece of writing.
List the six ways you can start a sentence.
1. The subject.
Can you say how I have started these sentences?
- Have you seen the cat?
- David hit the ball.
- Watching the sky, he knew it would snow.
Challenge: Try writing sentences about this picture.

Discussion with your family: Why do we need to tell the time? What time do you wake up? What time do you have your breakfast? What time do you have your lunch? What time do you have your dinner what time do you go to bed? Can you think of any other times that are important in your day?
