Home Learning

Home Learning 23rd March

Due to the school closures nationwide, your child will not be able to attend school. To support your child’s learning at home and to keep them busy, here are a few activities you can do with your child.

Maths Home Learning –

Count with your child – count toys, trees, pebbles, fruit, books, etc. There are so many things to count in our homes.

Go for a number hunt in your house. Look for the numbers 1 – 5. When you child is confident with numbers to 5, begin looking for numbers to 10.

Finding the total number of items

Look for shapes in your home (circles, squares, rectangles and triangles).

Literacy Home Learning –

Name Writing- practice writing the letters from your child’s name. Write it on paper, in flour or salt, write it on the floor, write the letters in the bath tub. This practice will help your child begin writing their name on their own.

We have been learning about the story Jack and the Beanstalk. You can also read the story on twinkl if you do not have a copy at home. Twinkl is free for everyone to use at home while we are learning at home.

I will be posting regularly activities and resources for you to use with your child while we are away from school.
